Learning to love with an open hand….

When I was a boy, I would go into the breadbox and gather the stale bread, walk across the street, enter a small pine grove, and place breadcrumbs in my hand. After awhile the chickadees would be circling my hand looking at the goodies I had, and before you knew it, one brave chickadee swooped down and grabbed a piece. This went on for quite some time but I wanted to hold one, so, when the time presented, I grabbed at one, at which time it kicked and flapped and I had to let it go……
The rest of the afternoon, not one chickadee would take any breadcrumbs from me and I walked home contemplating the afternoon.

About two or three weeks later I repeated the same process, except for one thing, I didn’t try to grab, I left my hand open. That afternoon those chickadees landed on not only my hand but they landed on my shoulder and even on my head, they filled my heart with love that afternoon and they taught me a very valuable lesson.

“ We need to be able to love with an open hand “

In other words, to find love we need to give love.

It's so great to see all of your smiling faces, new and old. Have you ever asked yourself, what makes Cape Cod so special? I think you will all agree the Cape is a magical place, but what is it that feeling, when you come over the bridge from the main land and arrive on the Cape? I would be happy for your thoughts on this subject.

Jack's Wish...

Some people say, if you reveal your wishes, they won’t come true.
I on the other hand, believe just the opposite. Wishes and/or ideas are like seeds, if you leave them in the package, they will never be able to take root and grow....
Spring is the time to plant and nurture new growth, so I feel that this will be an appropriate time to plant a new wish. My wish is as follows,
“ I want to make a positive difference on this planet before I leave this world “
Now that I’ve planted that wish, it needs to be nurtured watered and cared for.
However, this wish is far bigger than me, for I am nothing more than a small piece of the grand puzzle, therefore, for this reason, I believe this wish needs to be adopted by all, in order to insure proper care and growth.

Summer is just around the corner.

As like most of you, I can hardly wait for those warm summer days to begin.I am already getting emails from customers new and old, making sure they will be able to get the equipment they want when they arrive on Cape. Having a better connection with my customers.

OK.. Since I started this blog, I haven't had much time to input many of my thoughts,
I hope that will change as the summer comes to a close.
These last few days of rain has me thinking of all the disappointed people that chose to vacation on Cape Cod this week, I guess it's the luck of the draw.
In June, I placed a counter on my web site to determine what kind of traffic was being generated and to my amazement the number of people that have visited Jacks is actually quite high. This brings me to the question, what is it that draws people to this site and what can I provide to make your visit a more memorable one?
